As I was praying the other day, I could feel the Holy Spirit say, “spring is coming”. Naturally you would laugh and say well of course, look outside...but I mean springtime for the church body is coming. Like in the natural, the calendar turns to a specific date and spring begins, but sometimes what see contradicts what we know. In our community snow began blowing well after the first day of spring. Birds had already been making their way home from the south and flowers started to shoot up- but discouragingly, the frost reappeared.
Sometimes we grow impatient and wonder if the season will ever change but deep down we know it will happen as it is supposed to happen. Beloved, God is saying the same thing in the spiritual realm, spring is coming. A time of new life, new opportunities and new love to be poured out. We need only to keep that hope alive.
Just like birds and flowers, there are signs popping up around us where little shifts can be detected. Glimmers of the harvest and Kingdom advances we will see take place. When those glimmers of hope seem to be squelched by bad news and unbelief, remember, just like the flowers, sometimes the first flowers don’t last the whole season. They burst forth first to pave the way for others to sprout.
In this new season, God is going to raise up new leaders who will impact this generation in the last hour with an insatiable desire for the Lord and His presence.
Press into the Father’s heart today and ask Him how He can prepare you for this new season of harvest that is coming. Most importantly, when you see the snow flurries coming- both physically and spiritually; don’t be discouraged. Spring is coming. I invite you to declare this, “spring is here and I will see His promises come to pass!”
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” -Psalm 27:13
